You hide them when parked or just leave them? Able to link to engine so they turn on and start recording when engine is on?

You hide them when parked or just leave them? Able to link to engine so they turn on and start recording when engine is on?
I manually set them. I dont hide them well. Baseball cap or beanie over the dash, poncho over the headrest mount. I swap them from car to car so no hard wire.

On the way to work this morning there was a lady at a side street light waiting for her green, on her phone. I had just about stopped for my red and I saw her look up from her phone to see if it had changed. It must have changed green just when she went back to her phone. Meanwhile I'm stopped and another car pulls up beside me. Phone lady is oblivious that we are stopped at our red and she can go. She is on one of those sensor pad things that notices a car pulling onto it to change the light only when needed, so...we wait...and wait.
I was in no rush and wanted to see how long it would take. Mostly, though, I was hoping she wouldn't notice and have to wait through another red.

I text and drive pretty frequently.
On surface streets I make a concious effort to only do it at red lights and almost never while actually driving.
On the drive between Phoenix and San Diego I'll do it more since there is a lot lighter traffic. I read the message, respond and then put the phone back down.
I know it's not good and the last few years I've gotten a lot better at it but I still do it.

At the age of 55, I used to think it was just younger people, but my daughter and I see people of all ages looking down while driving through our neighborhood on our way to school. She's only 6, but doesn't understand how people can drive without looking, and also fears me being hit on one of my bikes. On the goofier side, we've also seen a guy playing a guitar, acoustic, while cruising around. Seriously. I have no words.....
My daughter holds up a large hand written sign on her window "STOP TEXTING AND PAY ATTENTION!!!". The look on their faces is priceless!!

See it all the time over here in SC. Have to say it really pisses me off. It's unsafe and most importantly you're being very Inconsiderate to everyone else on the road.

Saw a kid looking at his phone while driving down the highway during rush hour a few days ago. Doing 45 mph, tapping his brakes when no one is in front of him for about 15 car lengths. I get off the highway and am waiting in the off ramp. Sure enough I look in my rear view mirror and see him sliding at me at 45 degrees all 4 wheels locked up. You would have think him coming within millimeters of hitting me would get him to stop but no, still looking at his damn phone the whole time we waited to get through the light. He kept crawling closer and closer sometimes when I wasn't moving.
