That's really neat and well organized! I wish I could pull that off, but between three vehicles and a motorcycle, plus yard equipment and general construction tools (saws etc) it's hard to do.

Truth be told, I haven't done my own fluid changes yet, I gotta guy two block down the road. Just need to save up for drain pans and I'll be doing oil, and eventually take on brake pads. Very little automotive folks in my family unfortunately

Mine is RPM Garage in Monrovia, CA. I don’t do any work anymore except for filter changes and small mods. Too old and lazy now. Use to love it.

My wife and I are both tool users, and we share the two car garage. Below is the half of the garage that is my workshop.

The shelving on this side of the shop is made from 1x2 box steel tubing welded up by yours truly. Same story with the rolling drill press stand. Foreground: folding work table, ramps, creeper, folding camp chair.

On this side just some store-bought shelving. Nothing special. Up top: Port-a-band, miter saw, 2nd compressor, oscillating drum sander, etc.

A view of the bench from inside. 14 ft. Formica counter top with neoprene where it counts. The tool bag rotates on a lazy Susan bearing. The task light has a magnifier inside. Lurking in the shadows underneath: a full size Delta table saw. MIG welder in home made cart. Festool wet/dry vac, coupla dollys, 2-step ladder.

Some detail shots: a section of the shelving accommodates small parts bins. The compressor is in the ceiling where it is pleasantly muffled. The tank drain feeds outside via copper tubing to a ball valve on the outside wall. The air is fed down to the separator/regulator and back up to the combo reel. That reel is a guilty luxury but after shelling out the big bucks I have never regretted it. It is sooo convenient.

Using the leftover space behind the small parts bins: compressor switch, paper towel dispenser, pneumatic fittings. I made up those adapters with the short hoses. They all fit into the same valve/ gauge assembly, also pictured.

Cool garages guys. Mine isn't so dedicated as it's also where I work on my old tractors, or mowers, or boats and anything else I need to wrench on, lol.

Using the leftover space behind the small parts bins: compressor switch, paper towel dispenser, pneumatic fittings. I made up those adapters with the short hoses. They all fit into the same valve/ gauge assembly, also pictured.

Ordering one of those pneumatic fitting hangers, I use my blow gun and inflaters pretty regularly and I have one set up for presta for the mountain bikes I'm constantly swapping and they usually end up laying around next to the air compressor. Can't wait to have them hanging up nicely near the air reel!

canadian whiskey boys

My father drank that, or another brand of whiskey, every night after serving with the Canadian Royal Engineers from 1943-46. And started smoking after the war. Drank and smoked like crazy for ~70 years straight. Passed away 8 years ago at 90 and was still driving. Your picture reminded me of him.

90 years is a heck of a run for any man.
I don't have a ton of military family, come from a majority of alcoholics on my dad's side. Both grandparents and 3 out of 4 sons, gone. The old man's drink of choice was warm strong beer, he passed away 10 years ago from a heart attack at 57. Crazy.

I don't have a ton of military family, come from a majority of alcoholics on my dad's side. Both grandparents and 3 out of 4 sons, gone. The old man's drink of choice was warm strong beer, he passed away 10 years ago from a heart attack at 57. Crazy.

Sorry to hear. I felt my dad had less stress because he took it out on us after the drinking started after 8pm, lol. Was always on time to work and got my brother and I into Ice Hockey out here in California in the late ‘60’s. Miss him and my mom.

I can tie this all together. My Dad was a J&B Scotch guy. He had it delivered to the house by the case. Mom enjoyed Campari and soda. My brother and I shared a room and didn’t get along very well, but we had one hard and fast rule. No one gets left alone at the dinner table with Dad. If you finish your dinner, you wait until your brother finishes before you ask to be excused. Anyone left alone at the table with Dad would be mercilessly picked on until he cried.

Dad was handy and had lots of tools. He was a pegboard guy. Everything was optimally placed and neatly hung. In the 80’s he went nuts with all the pegboard accessories from the Brookstone catalog. A dozen or more shapes of hooks let him hang a wider variety of things on the pegboard. And special lids for baby food jars so that small parts could be stored on the pegboard as well. We all wondered where he got the baby food jars, as our family was between babies at the time.

The good ole days. My father too, had all his tools and other things hanging on pegboards with different glass jars for various fasteners, nails and other hardware. Also had the red Hills Bros coffee cans for miscellaneous stuff. And yes, my brother and I never left the table without permission.
We derailed slightly on Whiskey and Scotch, but are still talking garages.

Man, I wish I took a picture of my garage before I cleaned it. I was on a streak of diverse small projects, with things to do as soon as I did the projects. I literally had a safety hazard in there with saws, hedge trimmers, shovels, ladders ,Dremel, compressor, oil change gear, golf club repair, fishing gear repair and car / boat cleaning supplies all not put away. Still missing two sockets even after the long overdue clean up. I assume I am the only one on this board who ever let their garage get out of control……..
