Thanks man.

Used the last bit of my tube for this bar. Turned out nicely. Once I get more tube I’ll finish this door and move to the passenger side.

Got my tcase and transmission skids bent and on. Coming up with the front skid should be interesting.

Should get the latches tomorrow. Ill finish this door hopefully, and work out the latch assemblies. Need to trim the hinge plates too.

in your initial writeup...you said it was past it's prime. Why exactly? Looked pretty good.

Do you drive it on the road? Titled and insured?

Yeah she’s road worthy. I drive it wheeling now that is has good tires. 30-45 mins each way highway. Cruises along damn good! Not sure I’d drive it to Moab, but I would trust it to make it.

It’s not that bad but there was a bunch wrong with it. Worn out bushings, lights on the dash, cruise inop, all the suspension completely clapped out, had a couple dents, couple things didn’t work, little bit of rust. Nothing major but past it’s prime was a good way to describe it in my eyes. I’ve fixed lots and it drives way better now.

Tube doors look awesome!

Thank you, I had a few friends stop by tonight so I didn’t get much done. Did get one latch together, and cut a couple plates for the other side. Basically the part of the latch that goes onto the door frame, has to accomplish a couple things. It has to grab the male end of the door latch, push in the door open switch, and hold a little piece of foam to keep the door from rattlim bummed though it’s supposed to RAIN ALL WEEKEND again so I can’t even use these this weekend. :mad2:

Haven’t cleaned this up or stuck on the foam, but this is the general idea.

The whole underneath. Pretty flat and smooth!

Cost me about $225 for all these skids so far. Very happy with them too.
