The Beagle Freedom Project

Hey all, just wanted to put this out there as I'm not sure how many people know about it. There is a non-profit organization known as The Beagle Freedom Project and their primary mission is to rescue laboratory test beagles and give them a "first chance" at a new life. These pups are born and raised in these labs and never see the light of day. Typically they are put down when they are no longer of use. The BFP coordinates with these companies and promises no disclosure about the company in exchange for the dogs unharmed. They are then rehabilitated and introduced to all the joys of life they missed out on.

I mention this because we as T4R owners have a common passion, our vehicles and the outdoors, and what goes best with that but man's best friend.

So I ask, if you are a pet owner, current, prior, or prospective, please check this organization out. I'm not sure about the specific details for fostering or adopting these animals but I you can register from them directly at ARME's Beagle Freedom Project to be a prospective family.

Watch the videos and they'll stir something inside of you for sure. Spread the word and pay it forward and give these guys a first chance.

The website also provides information on companies known to test on animals in the event that you are considering no longer supporting these companies. Unfortunately, almost every company tests... but there are the few that are big names.

Great share, Voodoo. What they do is terribly sad and if anyone ever watches one of the videos of these pups endure and then their rescue process as they take their first steps on grass, it's truly heartbreaking.
I've watched many of the videos over the years and what you see on their faces is unforgettable.
As soon as I can have another dog, this surely would be considered.

They surely do. Dog food companies also use dogs for testing. Iams being one of them.
