Agreed, I will not spend hundreds or even thousands on a dog when there are great dogs that need a home in our local animal shelter.

So far I have not even seen one issue with him. We have other animals on our property to include Horses, Chickens, and other bird like animals and he had nothing to do with them. I was expecting him to chase the Chickens and nothing. The goose already got him good so he knows to stay away from that things that makes all the noise. Taking him to the Vet for the left over Kennel Crud he is yacking. Other than that he is solid and very mellow and friendly.

Thats great! Boxers seem like good dogs to obey and listen. My buddy use to breed them and all of his listened pretty well. My parents have a 5 yr old husky and hes just now getting to that stage where hes starting to listen a bit better.

He looks like he's got a big personality, my second boxer we took from the pound too. Glad to see another boxer owner! [MENTION=56529]Jon[/MENTION] has one too, awesome dog! Best loving dogs ever IMO. I've had 4 since I was born. Here's mine (14 yrs old June 17) we've considered putting him down 4 times, but every time he proves us wrong and he's still happy and running around:

Update from Buddy the Boxer...
Well Dad got tired of me jumping over the seat back and forth so I'm now locked in. He says it is for my own good but I'm not to sure about this thing yet. I guess it keeps me safe and secure in my area of the 4Runner. How do I look everyone? Can someone tell how to open that door so I can get to dad?

Good for you for rescuing him. They are great dogs. My favorite dog was a rescue. Yoda, my Boxer-Shar Pei mix loved to ride in the back of my Runner with the window down.Occasionally, I would just load him up for a trip around the neighborhood much to the amusement of my then wife. Lost him three years ago. I still miss the guy.

Well hell, didn't know this was a boxer thread.
Here's ours - his name is Ali. (Former owner had a huge imagination. lol)
I couldn't NOT adopt him when I saw him. Turns out that he was a rescue dog as well; the guy who owned him prior to me was deployed and got a 'Dear John' letter. Upon his return he pretty much sat around and did nothing...and Ali ended up being confined to a cage for 23 hours or so a day. I got him at about 8 months old, weighing about 35 pounds (!!!).
Suffice to say he's doing absolutely FINE nowadays. The only problem is that the dog eats fast as hell due to his prior abuse, and farts like you would not BELIEVE. It's bad enough to knock a buzzard of a sh!twagon. LOL
