I managed to score a used Tepui Foothill from my local REI in the garage sale for $500!! I needed a way to mount it so I started looking into roof racks. Roof racks are pretty expensive so I was pretty determined to find a cheaper option.
I ended up buying 4 sets of towers from Gamiviti and mounting them to my roof with some extruded aluminum for crossbars.
4 bolted into the stock positions, and I drilled and put in RivNuts for the other 4.
These were the first holes I drilled into Toyota metal :shocked:
I ended up ordering another set of mounts from Tepui so I could mount to all 4 bars to prevent rattling.
This added quite a bit of wind noise on the highway, so I may add an airdam in the future.
