I honestly can't believe they are doing this. They keep citing the actors' right to freedom of speech and whatever, but by doing this, they are denying them that. We live in a country where we don't have to be afraid of what we say or what we write, especially compared to other countries. By canceling the movie, Sony has shown that it can be bullied around, and I can't help but draw a similarity to other countries where people are afraid of speaking out.
 
Release it for free. Make it available to every major network for free and offer it on Hulu, Prime, Netflix, etc. Create such a massive distribution that it dwarfs the size of any movie released in the history of cinema.

Sony is going to take a bath on it anyway. Set freedom free.

The fact of the matter is nothing will be done in response. The world handles NK with kid-gloves due to their relations with China and Russia. Lets look at all of the backlash that occurred when they shelled an SK island or sunk a fishing boat or the countless times they disregard UNs demands to cease nuclear and missile testing. Nothing happened, but the USA still sends humanitarian aid. Enough is enough.

The fact is that they pulled the film as a direct response to blackmail that if they didn't pull the film then more data would be released AND now possible threats against theater goers.

I don't think it has anything to do with free speech as much as it has to do with Sony not wanting the other Terabytes of data to be released via BitTorrent links posted to Pastebin. The news says that the attackers TOOK EVERYTHING from the company's servers. I don't know how true it is but it is clear they took a lot and are still holding back a lot of data they are threatening to release.

Sony is an international company. They made this decision, not the US government. Not liberals or conservatives.
 
I'm willing to bet Sony had an insurance policy on the film and is getting paid for not releasing it.

I never even heard of the movie until all this crap started, now I want to see it lol
 
Even Sony's own hacked emails admit this movie was going to flop...I mean it stars the two most annoying actors in Hollywood. It probably didn't take a lot of arm twisting to cancel it.
 
Yea, I'm sure they cancelled it and would rather make no money versus some because some people don't like those actors.
 
I just now watched the Sony CEO interviewed on CNBC. He clearly and unequivocally stated that Sony did not make that decision for any reason other than "all" (his word) the distributors refused to show the movie.

I'm just reporting what I saw, don't much care, the movie was a turd anyway.

BTW, I sure didn't see Obama get his panties bunched over Target being hacked. Oh wait, his lib Hollywood buddies weren't affected. Yawn.

This country has become a pathetic group of pussies. Everybody is afraid to speak their mind, take a chance, and man up.

Imagine this scenario: Johnny Douchebag goes to see the movie and something goofy happens. What does he do? He runs right to his lawyer and sues Sony for millions because he stubbed his toe walking out at a brisk pace because he got scared of some Korean guy. Pathetic.

If I owned Sony, I'd say F those Koreans and I'd release that movie just to say F-you.

Yeah, I wonder if those that have internet access in north korea, even reach the thousands on a good day.

You have the chubby little dictator, his lackey's in his administration, and a few privileged 'Friends of Chubby Little Dictator'. Beyond that, no one would be allowed to see the outside world.

shocking, yet not surprising. this is who we are. lowest common denominator prevails again.

how we can allow N Korea to exist, to do what it does to its people, undermines any claim of moral or ethical superiority on our part. beyond shameful.
