THe manual proceedure for changing the auto lock on my 05 SR5 V8 didn't work.

Can you set the autolock feature using an obdii reader? My uncle has one. I did the procedure in the manual many times with no luck.

No, you cannot change the autolock settings with an obd2 scanner. If you get one of those ebay Toyota mini-VCI (I think?) cables and download the Techstream TIS software, you can adjust a lot of the electronic features (including the autolocking behavior) by plugging your laptop into the obd2 port. They're only around $30, but getting the software installed properly can be a hassle.
