The stork arrived today and dropped off a 4750 lb, 189.9” bouncing baby 2012 Trail Edition with KDSS in Magnetic Gray and cloth floor mats. Father is doing fine except for a rather light headed bank account.

Next is to give it a nice bath then circumcise it (de-badge) and apply some baby lotion (sealer, glaze and wax). Then I’ll start teaching it to be the best it can be (start the mods).:trophy:

I'm beginning my looking process for a 2012 trail as well. Living in Ohio is NOT conducive to Trail Editions, that's for sure! Gonna be making a 2+ hour drive in a couple weeks to test drive one.

Would you mind sharing what you paid for it? Always nice to hear what people are actually paying before you start negotiating with the dealers.

try Texas its like Toyota is giving us the middle finger with 4x4's down here even though alot of them come through Houston.

Hey Hammn, congrats on your new baby! I just had one as well, mag gray, nav, picking it up this weekend. I pestered the dealerships and watched the inventory that was coming in. Then when I saw 15 of the coming in (into the southeast area), I pounced and had them allocate one to the dealer. I was told from another dealer that they can order one for you if your willing wait. The only bad thing I learned was that you can't add a lot of "extra" goodies on the trail at least yet... :)
 
Oops, congrats to Grant K! One of those days. Hammb, you'll find one watch on the dealer web page, not the existing inventory, they are starting to come in faster. Good luck.
 
Congrats! I'm about to put my 11 SR5 up for adoption and start looking for the stork flying in my direction with a Magnetic Grey Trail. They're two on a freighter headed to my town soon. I have already started making a wish list for mods! I might just have to take a drive up for that Colorado meet in a few months.

What is this dealer website of which you speak? I just was looking at all the area dealers' individual sites and browsing their existing inventory.

I found a Trail that is about 2 hours away from me. I'm gonna head there to test drive it, but I really want shoreline blue and there don't seem to be many of them ANYWHERE...so I'll end up having to wait for one.

I know what a good deal but with the rarity of Trail Editions right now I could use some calibration as to what is a good deal right now.

Also looking for a TE with KDSS and hopefully Entune.
 
Let the modding begin...

So far I swapped out the headlight bulbs for SilverStart Ultras, BIG improvement.

Installed the EGR Visors:

New TRD leather shift knob installed. Still waiting for the ICON T-case knob.

Installed the aFe CAI unit. I'm not impressed with the quality. The hole to mount the MAF sensor was misaligned with the mounting screws and I had to use a Dremel tool to adjust the hole so the sensor would seat properly. It seems to work properly (no warning lights) and sounds meaner when I get on it.

My MAF sensor was correct but rubber seal connecting to the fender for air wasn't. It wasn't pressed up tightly so I had to pull the rubber seal out a little to have it pull air only from the fender. I don't know if that's normal?? Didn't think it was a big deal but still...

By the way... I like your knob :driving:
