Many of you will recognize this build and it's history. I've incorporated a lot of info from [MENTION=63487]A.Wilson013[/MENTION] 's thread but intend to add stuff as I continue to build and occasionally just photo dump from trips.

The Story:

In August of 2014, I ventured out on the WABDR with a group of 10 from TW and T4R to see the natural beauty of Washington. I'll skip some of the boring stuff, but what transpired from this event was meeting [MENTION=63487]A.Wilson013[/MENTION] & [MENTION=82154]GSPRunner[/MENTION]. We ventured off to do the WABDR while the remainder hit Moon Rocks (or was it funny rocks?). 3 days and 2 nights later, I had the desire for a 4runner. Thanks to Alex and Joe, 99-00 were my target years. Their builds being my inspiration. Throughout the next few years, I tried to find a 4runner that I liked, but none fit the bill. In 2016 I bought one. A white 99, Limited w/ Locker. About a month into it I decided it just wasn't the one. So I sold it, and continued to search CL. I was looking for something to build, but it was difficult to find the proper base to work with. After many unsuccessful months, I decided to start building my Tacoma for MOAB instead of going forward with a T4R.

Fast forward to 02/17, Alex posts that his 4runner just sold. I couldn't believe I missed it... But by the grace of someone mightier than myself, a week later he posts that it is back up for sale. The rest is history - Alex treated this thing amazingly and I hope to continue what had inspired him originally for this runner. MOAB 2017 HERE WE COME!

Recently finished putting in the new head unit. (pioneer nex 4100) Android Auto is a pretty neat feature on the nex models but I think i prefer just to bluetooth in instead. It has some safety features that are more restrictive than I anticipated.

I also ran a rear camera line to the headunit with a line for the 12v trigger from the reverse lights. I just need to finish tapping it in behind the brake light, ran out of time and connectors over the weekend.

A buddy hooked me up with some tred 1100s for the trails, mounting location TBD.

Redline Hood struts in the mail, should show up around wednesday.

Picked up some 285/70/17 duratracs, and have SCS Stealth 6s in the mail to mount them to. Shopping for a spare scs.

The 18' CB line barely made it from the tireswing to the center console. i ran it through the frame. temporarily borrowed the cb unit from my tacoma, unsure of what I plan to run permanently. I am leaning towards a hand held unit that will work with my firestik. I don't feel the need to go to crazy over a CB, as i'll have walkies for backup and plan to add a ham unit in the future.

Installed redline hood struts today and also finished wiring the rear camera. couple guys did a few other mods as well at the house. beautiful day. wish i would've had time to wash the runner, hopefully tomorrow is nice.. ha nvm i live in Oregon.

My plans orginally/currently are to attend Rock Therapy in October, but I am almost worried about the size of the group and as I've talked with locals there seems to be interest in going but not w/ the Rock Therapy group, but still in October...

So at this time all I can say for certain is it will be in October.

I have been to rock therapy 3 times, and will probably go this year even though they moved it to October. I have never found it to be too crowded. There are so many little "clicks" among the people that show up and so many trails in moab that usually people split up into runs of 3-7 trucks.

Its a great time to meet up with fellow enthusiasts.

The only crowded part is camping at the BFE campsite, but that place sucks so I usually camp in town (walking distance to ice cream is too good to pass up ). BFE is a shade-less, water-less exposed piece of dirt where you are surrounded by drunk people partying all night keeping you up.

I found a great deal on some SCS wheels that I've been wanting, and also picked up a new set of Duratracs for them.

and also took it for a spin to Browns Camp for my birthday before events later in the evening. My buddy in the FJ had not been out before so I took him on some of the blues.
