I just logged on to eBay and notice the Discount Tire Direct eBay sale went live.

I have yet to look too far into it but it seems that it is the standard set up.

$100 off for every $400 spent on select tires, (and wheels I guess).

So, for those who are new to this. Split your purchase of 4 or more tires into two purchases to get $200 off your new set.

You can also use this price as leverage to see if your local DT will match it.

You can also take eBay DTD tires to a local DT to have them mounted, (should be the same as their standard store bought price) and insured with hazard protection.

It varies from tire to tire, but they sell in different configurations. Do they are grouped in, singles, doubles, and sets of four. So unless you are buying fairly inexpensive tires then there's no point in buying them in groups of four. Either go for a double package or double up the single quantity option to try to get your full $200 off.

And... Don't forget to see if your tire manufacturer is running a special promo! Like Cooper is running a $70 gift card for buying a set of 4 tires.

I'm actually thinking of getting tires now! Looks like the pricing is good, in most cases, until the end of the month.

That said, checking the prices against the Tire Rack, unless I'm missing something, TR looks be less expensive, at least for Duratecs and KO2 (285/75-16).

EDIT/ADD: I stand corrected on the KO2s. $708 for a set of four, total, no tax, free shipping.

For the tire gurus out there:
Pardon my ignorance but can you please assist in my inquires below:

• What is the best All Terrain tires for an TRPOR? It rarely snows here in the PNW but rains a lot. A few occasions I intend to hit the snowing mountains.
• Will these change the ride quality?
• I am still running stock, will these tires cause any rubbing issues if I go the same size or should I a little bigger or smaller?
• Can I use these tires in the future, if I decide to go to a 3 or less inches lifts?

I haven't used those tires but if you are looking at winter only tires Bridgestone Blizzak and Nokian Hakkapeliitta R2 are the best out there. The Nokians are harder to find though, and not part of this sale unfortunately.

I've noticed this as well. Not just limited to tires, but a lot of times during these marketed sales with designated sellers, the seller will increase the base price.

Still, compared to Walmart, utilizing this coupon, you can save about $50, for a brand new basic set of 265/70/17 Hankook Dynapro RH12's. Which hey, $50 is $50. You are also getting free ship, you don't have to drive to Walmart to pick up, and saving another $10 on tax.

The best deal usually on ebay is to wait for their 8-10% ebay bucks. Or their most recent sale of 15% off site wide. Which is rare, but once or twice a year, and the ebay bucks deals are usually quarterly.
