The Wind Noise !

Searching out ' wind noise ' produced a lot of results , some ( most ) posts are aged and ended without solution , that I found anyways.
Until recently I've never had any noise from the windshield area , but I just got a new windshield installed and now it screams like 24 witches with giant claws scratching them down a blackboard . Like holy fluck man !
After looking at all the obvious , I taped down the weather stripping , first only on top , nothing . Then the sides of the windshield weather stripping and that is for sure where it's screaming from , to the point that if I place my hand on the window you can feel it vibrating .
Have any of you experienced this after a windshield replacement ? I havent been able to contact the glass shop yet but Im assuming they cheaped out and used aftermarket crappy weatherstripping ?
Anyone run into this ?

Well ... that rubber strip that surrounds the windshield is not suppose to be glued down .

Yes it is. I have been in Auto glass for 16 years, and you my friend got a very poorly installed windshield. TAKE IT BACK TO THEM AND MAKE THEM FIX IT!!!!
Make them pull it and reset the windshield. Your wind noise is because there is no glue in that spot...push on the glass from the inside, I bet you it will move and it's not supposed to.

Ok cool , appreciate the response . I did just as you said and the glass doesn't budge at all .
Your saying that the rubber surround , around the windshield , the rubber visible from outside , ( well ok its the sides and top ) is suppose to be glued ? I asked about that when I picked up the truck and he said that rubber is more cosmetic than anything. He said that is not suppose to be glued .

The weatherstrip is cosmetic, but it's always glued onto the windshield prior to the installation. Wind noises suck....no two ways about it. But if there is one....there is a problem. The truck should not have any noise different than before the installation.
Good luck...does the shop have a good reputation where you live?

Actually ya it does have a good rep . When I get back home ( I'm a 1000 miles away at work at the moment ) I'll go see him , I'm sure he will fix it . Until then its taped down with Scotch tape and it is quiet .
My point of the post was more to determine if it was because the new stripping was after market and cheap or would the Toyota rubber still scream , being the same install . The side wind is for sure creeping under that rubber and causing this.
