Yeah, I watched that. He is a great excavator operator, very smooth and quick, knows exactly what he is going to do. I used to sell them and operated them a few times but never to demo to a customer or I would have lost the sale!

Kinda wanna try out the Case electric backhoe.
Their latest diesel units are problematic.

But, contractors will be charging them with diesel gensets.

Haven't kept up with the industry since I retired but hybrid excavators and electric are obviously available. Really, they have been for a long time, the big mining shovels are diesel electric as are LeTournea wheel loaders and mining trucks and have been for years.

I had a similar situation last year with a skid steer that got stuck in a mud pit. Took a few hours to get it out, and it was pretty satisfying to see the operator finally get it free. We had to use a combination of chains and a winch, and honestly, I was surprised how well it handled. Just came across this old post and thought I'd share—after that experience, I checked some specs on Heavy Equipment Specs to see if a different model might have handled the situation better. It’s amazing how much the right equipment can make a difference in those tough spots.
