Hello All -- Newbie to the forum and to working on Toyota's in general. I have a '94 4-Runner with the 3.0 V-6 and 115,000 miles. It is leaking coolant from the front lower area of the engine. Looks to me like the thermostat housing may be leaking, so I was going to replace the gasket and the thermostat while I was at it. What is the ft-lb torque spec for this? I read on a random tech thread for replacing the timing chain that someone recommended 14 ft lbs, but was not sure which engine it was for. Does that sound right for a '94 V-6?
Also, is there anywhere else between the oil pan and the thermostat housing that the coolant could be leaking from? While I can do anything on my Olds, I am not very knowledgeable of the Toyota engines so any help would be appreciated.
