Thinking about a short roadtrip

I'm old. My sisters are even older (snicker). Haven't seen them for several years.
I live in NW AZ, they are in central OR. Thinking of a surprise visit. Round trip will be around 2,000- 2,500 miles.
First choice would be my 1978 Yamaha XS1100, but a rogue wind gust blew it over (parked) and shattered the fairing.
That leaves my 1968 F100 (with 2 saddle tanks for a total 60 gallon fuel capacity) or my 2017 4runner.
Intended route is through Las Vegas, Tonopah, Winnemucca. Kinda back road all the way.
First-world problem, which vehicle to take.

Sounds like it will be a fun trip. 4Runner will give you the best chance of making it back alive so I'd take that one.

The Yamaha also has a larger fuel tank. Original is 5.5 gal. This one is from a Yamaha "Venture" and is 6.5 gal.
It also has the final drive (shaft drive bike) from an XS750. That drops my cruising 500 RPM.

4Runner.
You can travel with a good amount of stuff and if you get into a wreck you probably won’t die at your age like you will on a motorcycle.

The XS11 would be my choice. Maybe even just remove the fairing and enjoy the breeze. Or,,,,,, i have a friend who just bought an new Kawasaki Conqours. He put a 100k on the clock on the old one. It might be available soon. Still has lots of good smiles per mile left in it. Either way, take the time to enjoy the trip.

Well, I do have more than one XS1100. I also have a 1980 Midnight Special. These were a limited run model.
They were a "cruiser" with pullback handlebars (like a weed wheelbarrow). Not my style so I swapped bars and added a sport fairing. And upped the displacement from 1,100 to 1,200 cc. Oh, the compression ratio is now 10.4 to 1.
Not show in the picture is an RC Engineering 4 into 1 header with a SuperTrapp muffler.

But I'll be taking the 4runner. I made a sleeping platform today.
Hatch to folded up seat is 5'8". I'm 5'8" tall (underheight for my weight).
There's a 2½" lip that the platform addresses. Just need a hinge so I can fold it to put the seat up.

Headed home early because of a storm coming in.
2,000 miles and the 4runner purred like a kitten.
I discovered that on long trips the inner drivers door panel doesn't fit my leg comfortably.
