Thinking about buying this Built 66' FJ40 what do you think?

The Guy is in Santa Cruz spoke with him, saw some more pics the rig looks really clean he has had it since 07, and has a pretty nice build I really want an older FJ to beef up and take to the rubicon trail on the regular

what do you think? he said he would take 7k, I might be able to get him at 6,500

break the vehicle down

35" tires = $300 x 5 1500
winch = $400
bumpers conservativly $300 each = 600

we at $2500 already
vehicle price 7000-2500 mods = 4500

mods are things you would do to it if it was yours right?
Do these mods add value to the vehicle?

Does $4500 sound right for the rest of the vehicle? is it worth it?

From my desk looking at the pictures, it is. BUt its not me wanting one of these.

A FJ40 has been on my 'must own' list for a very long time. My roomy had one when I was stationed at Kodiak AK, and he drove that beast everywhere off road he wanted to go.

I say - GET IT!! They are getting nearly impossible to buy in that price range, and in decent condition.

I really want an FJ40 because they are unstoppable off road I look online everyday and this is the cheapest cleanest one I have found in a while. It appears to be very clean, all the other FJ's i see are rusted out and beat to shit after 40 some years and they are asking around 4-5 grand. I am going to try and get it for between 6-6500 when I go out there this weekend to check it out!
 
I've seen that FJ40 around town and it is absolutely beautiful. It's definitely well built and sounds like a beast. If you can afford it, I'd go for it. Most 40's are rusted to shit and would take a ton of hours/money to build up as nice as this one is. Go for it and pick me up for a test drive...haha
 
I am out in Vegas for ces show right now. Pretty hot at the tables right now. I'm up 3k, said to myself if I get at least 6500 in winnings, I'm driving out to cali to buy this and have it transported back to Philadelphia! So you better get on it, or if luck will have it. ..I will :)

damn just checked craigslist its gone :( I texted the guy said he sold it yesterday he deleted the ad and everything got the full 8,000 he was asking wow :der:
