This was his response,

“ I got it from Toyota HB and they built it out at the dealership. It’s definitely a pro lol. Why would I make that up. It has SR5 Features I’ll give you that but the dealership in HB builds them out once they come off the boat. It’s a TRD. Your forum should call out the dealership if anything. ”

Either he is in denial or has been fooled too.

Ask for the VIN#, input via OEM link below for specs, then send him a screenshot. Solves both of the above and might save someone else getting ripped off.

He’s in denial and dishonest, I went to the dealers website and they do have SR5P’s done up like that, but they don’t badge them or call them TRD or Pro’s. Yes I’m that F-ing bored.....

I must have of missed class when they were announcing trims levels. I didn’t know Toyota had a TRD PRO Premium.

He either got ripped off thinking it’s a TRD PRO and paid a TRDP price or he knows and he built his own TRD FAUX and is trying to rip someone off.

Hopefully someone else doesn’t buy it thinking it’s a TRDP.

Red coils, black strut body, is it the FOX like on a PRO? Thats an expensive add on.

Looks like the Fox pro suspension. Probably took that off a real Pro. Shady dealers do shady things. The TRD stuff used to be a parts counter wall display of aftermarket dealer add-ons. So it's not that unusual. The problem for me is that it doesn't come with the offroad bits - rear locker, Crawl, and MTS.

The dealer doesn't look like they're misrepresenting what it is though. Still says SR5 on the ad and on the side.

Badging up used cars is a lot more common than you might think at shady used car lots. They turn a lot of v6 dodges into hemis.

Any true 4runner enthusiasts would also know (on top of everything that people have already listed) that 2018, the special color was calvary blue and not barcelona red.

California sucks, but TBF, SE Toyota puts TRD Pro wheels and grilles (and the useless Predator steps) on SR5s and calls it the XSP model. Then charges like 10 grand for the privilege.

It is. The Bilstein version has white TRD lettering on the coil and an accordion-style boot, both of which appear to be visible in the picture. The Fox version has black TRD lettering on the coil and a smooth boot.

I doubt that Toyota of HB removed the SR5 badges off the pillars and slapped on TRD PRO badges a little higher that it needs to be and told him it’s a genuine TRD PRO. They most likely didn’t slap another badge on the rear lift gate either. He should of seen the words SR5 Premium on the papers during the time of signing.

Knowledge is money. These folks don’t have it, so they pay the tax. Besides, since those things never see dirt anyways they’re actually appropriately spec’d.

They’re everywhere down here in AL. Makes me love my poor mans TRD Pro even more.

I'm glad I went with the Off Road/Trail Edition, because I can put that extra money into better parts. lol.
