Last Thursday night I was involved in an accident which unfortunately cut the life of my 4Runner short. Without going into much detail, I was approaching an intersection at which I had the right of way, right before I got to the intersection a driver in a Jeep Wrangler tried to cut across, I swerved and slammed on my brakes but unfortunately there was not enough distance or time and inevitably hit him on the drivers side. My girlfriend and I were able to get out the truck shaken up a bit but luckily just bruised (pending doctor check up) the other driver wasn't as fortunate and suffered a broken arm after being pinned in his vehicle. A police report was filed and the other driver was at fault so his insurance is expected to pay for all the damages. Unfortunately the truck meant more to me than any dollar figure the insurance values it at. At the end of the day I'm just glad no one was seriously injured or lost their lives that night. Money comes and goes and this is just part of life. Once the insurance claim is settled I will probably not find myself in another 4Runner. Right now a pickup is what is more functional to me with having to help my dad haul the stock trailers and hay a 4Runner just won't cut it. While I did intend to purchase a newer vehicle I did not plan on it happening like this. Glad to say that after putting 174,000 miles on the T4R since we got it used with 28,000 back in 2002 she never skipped a beat and never let me down. She will be truly missed and hopefully I am able to get myself another here in the next couple years cause you really can't beat a dependability and reliability of a Yota. Farewell my brothers and sisters of T4R the knowledge I've acquired through this forum is some that I will value and carry for a lifetime.
