1 and 2 are the same...
imo, it depends what types of brakes you want... gotta respect the 'vsc' and 'atrac' on the 2001-2002...
If I did it again, I would have gotten a 2001-2002, UNLESS I found the 'cooper' 99 ltd (mostly for the 1yr color). then add ARB lockers (front and rear)

That is a nice color!
I have no interest in vsc & atrac, I know how to drive.
There's no 5 speed or e-locker on 01's & 02's.

here's a 220k 5spd. don't know about locker. sure miles are high,
expected miles from a min 13yr-19yr old truck. google "in their prime working years, driving an average of 15,291 miles per year" x 13yrs(19yrs) = 198k (290k) miles... and that's 'avg' not min/max
that 00 has 8200 miles/yr... that's low.

come to think of it, my 99 ltd had 9500miles/yr on it... but I paid for lower miles...

Hard to have perfect paint, unless repainted sometime in past / sounds almost fully restored, to be in that pristine condition.
A true time capsule of a low mileage Gen3 4Runner, wouldn't have that degree/extent of replacement parts.
- that a true survivor big $$, would warrant

It's a nice truck but the 96-98's dont have the re-sale value that the 99-02's have. Plus it's an A/T without a locker. For 25G's it better have everything including a SC. A lot of upgrades happened in 99.

^^ Totally agree, on the 1996 - $25,000 is absurd, even with a mere 16,000 original miles.
Wonder what this dealer, would have sticker priced it at, had it been a 1999 Limited w/all the goodies ?
