Those of you with the CBI Rear Bumper

Was it worth it?

I know it's a great product, looks great, well made etc.

With everything I want the total comes out to $1600.

Sounds about the same as my quote... It's just so hard to believe it's that expensive. 5 years ago the same bumper and same man power would have cost half that (or close to). I thought we've actually came a long way and have tools now to produce such items quicker and with less man power. I understand it's custom and hand done, but welders, plasma cutters, etc etc these days have made the jobs easier. So why is the price so much? Economy sucks. bla bla bla.

Will it do it's job, yes. Does it look top notch and better than tube bumper, yes. Is it practical to spend so much more for it when it will generally do the same job as the less expensive one, that's up to you.

My flimsy stock bumper is dented and scraped up and with 35s now I have no room for a spare. With the bumper and tire carrier it takes care of both those problems. But it's so hard to spend so much money for it. I spent a little less than that for a fully assembled front 3rd with 4.88s and an ARB. I'll definitely be getting my moneys worth out of it.

I still constantly tell myself I rather have something that I'll see the most use out of. I mean seriously, $1600 and I'm well on my way to a f150 tank relocation and dual cases (crawl box). Who wouldn't want that!?!

That's my same thought, I could for the same price get an ARB locker installed in the front. It would make a huge difference, I am just not ready for the trails it would be able to take on on yet.

You don't have to go anywhere you don't want to though, but you'll always have the option to be a step ahead of the rest. That's how I look at it. Don't be afraid of your truck and its capability.

Gahhh I know it's such a tough decision, the CBI looks sweet, and I can always have my spare, but an ARB Locker would be much more useful!

That is way too much for a bumper, sorry guys but H3LL NO!

They look sweet but I wouldn't even spend $1000 on a rear bumper.

totally agree. 1600 is whack. love it but too expensive. i plan on building one like bandit runner. hopefully his actually. but if you know anything about welding or are interested i feel like its a way cooler project then just installing a pre built product. and its way!!! cheaper. my 2 cents

Ive got a CBI with no swingout. I picked it up off Craigslist for a pretty good deal and probably wouldn't own one if I had to pay full price.

That being said, this is probably the most well made aftermarket item Ive bought for any of my vehicles. The welds are beautiful, no fitment issues, the powder coat is flawless, its just super beefy. All to often I find myself shelling out some serious cash only to find the product I bought needs a bit of work to make it work for me. That's not the case with the CBI. Would I buy it again? Hell yeah

Thanks for the input guys. I have decided to do the ARB Air Locker next, for functionality.

I live right down the street from ECGS, I went down today and got quoted $1600 for the locker, compressor, switches, and complete install.

Same exact price as the bumper.
