Almost no shedding.

I have fully embraced the German shedder life style. When I pick them up from their bath, the furnado is real. Can't bring myself to roll up the windows, so I just clean. Duel coat puppies, times two puppies is four coats of fur. ound:

I don't see my dog shedding as bad at those. Hahaha. I can only imagine the amount of hair that is every where.

Check out Canvasback cargo liners, they have panels that cover the 2nd row seatbacks as well as the cargo floor, and lots of options if you want to add a flap to protect the rear bumper, the rear hatch plastics, the wheel well plastics, flaps to expose the tie down points, red stitching, etc.

Canvasback in every vehicle I buy.

Totally agree, I have the Canvasback liners as well and they are great, but my dogs slide around and have a hard time getting a grip while the truck is moving. Definitely a nice covering for the back of the seats, but I really want to add some kind of thin rubber liner to cover that to help the dogs from sliding around everywhere

I'm bumping this as I've come up with an idea I wanted to share. I'm shopping for another Canvasback cargo liner for another vehicle, and I came up with the idea of putting a couple of velcro "hook" strips on the cargo area liner so a dog bed with a fabric bottom would have something to hang onto while the vehicle is in motion. I spoke to Canvasback and they are excellent about custom touches like this, so I'll be going ahead and making the order shortly.

For this application, there's a fold flat 3rd row, so I'm going with 2 velcro hook strips on the driver's side 3rd row seatback only, so a bit less than 1/4 of the cargo floor would be affected, something like what I've marked out with tape in the pic below.

I'll report back once received to let people know how it works!

I've tried most everything, but settled with a plastic crate strapped down in the back. It works better for me than the canvasback type options.

1. My doggy likes it better. She doesn't particularly love car rides, hanging out the window, etc. She just likes laying down and chilling.

2. The crate contains any dog mess. The fur sticks to the crat pad mostly, she drools in there, etc.

3. It allows me to still throw stuff in the back, and keep the stuff and dog separated.

4. It's easy to take the crate out when I need more room, just unstrap the tie downs. I mostly leave it in, though.

5. I also like the idea that she's in her crate if I get hit, or something. Unless it's something tragic, she'll be pretty safe back there, more so than just sitting/standing somewhere in the cabin.

Give it a try.

Also, I just use a large sheet to cover the cargo area, and the middle seat. It's low profile, same color as my interior, and easy to yank out and throw in the washer. Plus, it's cheap. Just another easy option if you won't want to spend canvasback money.

Dog being in a crate in the cargo area is the best and safest option for them. If you don't crate, the best cheap option is one or two moving blankets. Soft, tough, cheap, and easy to clean. Canvasback is nice but way more expensive than a couple moving blankets from harbor freight.

I have a VERY active and somewhat poorly behaved dog. Jack Russell/Boston terrier mix supposedly. 9 years old and still full of it. He has to be leashed in a vehicle or he will lick every window and jump all over anyone in it while I'm driving. Anyhow when I had my double cab tacoma I used one of the hammock covers and it was fantastic. In the 4Runner I leash him in the back to one of the tie downs and I have the factory plastic liner screwed down to the slide-out tray. Works pretty good and he can stick his head out the back window which he loves.

Have two English Springers and have tried several covers for the second seat. Found Orvis to have the best:

I went with a 6' x 9' canvas drop cloth from the hardware store. Under $30 and tucks in nicely with the seats folded down.

We have a Husky and a Black Lab/Great Dane mix (he looks mournful but is a happy guy) so we get maximum shedding.

my dog has his own Blankie that goes with him in the car its one of those multi color mexican blankets for the seat, but i also have the plastic Canadian third row floor mat for the back area that works great my dog also just like to lay down and sleep in the car which is great.

I use the Orvis seat cover, which is pretty cushy and stays in place. I use Canvasback for the cargo area and to cover the console in the front seat, as the dogs like to stand on it. Two large labradors!

Canvasback...I have them for the back of the 2nd row seat, a matching rollover canvas that attaches to the top of the seat and cover the tailgate. Can't post pics right now but I will later on. I have a weathertech cargo liner. Liked them so much I purchased some for the 200 series. Covered the 3rd row seats and the back of the 2nd row.

Bought this seat cover from Amazon. It covers the floors in the backseat and comes up and attaches to the front seat headrests. My husky sheds a lot and this seat cover keeps all of his hair in his area back there.
Cleanup is easy, I use the shopvac and when it starts to smell, I'll throw it in the washer.
I used to put my dog in the back trunk area but after being rear-ended 3 times, I'm a little freaked out by that idea.

I like it a lot for road trips and camping because it keeps the equipment/cargo in the vehicle separate from him when you have to quickly brake or get tossed around on a trail.

And of course I have to throw in a picture of Simba.
