Silver? Looks like Dorado Gold in the first pic then Thunder Cloud in the others. I see a SC & he doesn't mention it in the ad. LOL

I am guessing either pink milkshake (new radiator and cap) or he burned through the clutch material with the SC.

Still very nice looking but is screaming for a lift like Unners.

What is pink milkshake? Something associated with the SC? is 130k a little premature for the trans? I have 226 on mine and no issues...you think the SC might have burned the old trans up?

I am in the market for a newer lower mileage 4runner and this is in my price range, but do you think I should stay away from a SC one?

Sorry, but im sort of new to all the variants of these cars (owned mine since 2007, but never looked into any mods or repairs till the last few months. Never needed to!).

I have no connection. Just saw it while perusing craigslist and thought it might be a pretty good deal for someone on T4R in the market for a SC equipped 4runner.
I'm kinda new at this forum and don't know how (haven't attempted) to access the classified section. Feel free to move it over there if that would be more proper :) This truck is 3 hours from Birmingham or I might have gone to check it out already. Maybe someone might find this post helpful and keep an aging 3rd gen. in caring hands.
I'm not that knowledgeable on Super Chargers. Maybe someone can offer a good explanation of it's advantages and disadvantages. I know it increases horse power and the Toyota SC's are fairly desirable. Yes?

I think its a good find and thx for posting! I love the color, the hood scoop, the SC. Pretty much everything MINE doesnt have. Oh, and the low miles...lol. If I were closer. I may have to go on a road trip!

If you google the site you'll see quite a bit on the pink milkshake. In short it's when the radiator fails and the red toyota coolant mixes with the transmission fluid and ruins the tranny. The radiator is weak spot on these along with the LBJ's. Most remedy the problem by changing out their radiator, adding a trans cooler, (B&M #70268), then a scan gauge to montor trans temps. That's if you're lucky enough to do this before you experience it. If you do experience it, it's only a matter of time before you have to replace the tranny.

As for the SC contributing to a transmission failure, it depends on how he drove it. Burning rubber and spinning tires every chance you get. Yes. Driving it normally, monitoring tranny temps and using the SC for it's intended purpose, then no. These rigs are 4wd's and not street racers. Most of the guys on here with SC's spend a lot of money and time upgrading and mapping to ensure they're SC is rigged correctly to their 4runner.

I'm with you. Rebuilt tranny, new radiator=pink milkshake. SC will probably need a new nose cone, belt. CAI leads me to believe he drove it fairly hard and is looking to dump it before something else goes. (Maybe not though, most of us have the CAI/Deck Plate mod squeaking out that "umph" more HP)

I would pay more for a higher mileage, un-modded, one owner before purchasing this one.

Good call Rock_Rat. I am in the market for one, but I can surely find one locally (DFW is a big place). This one is 12+ hours away and who knows what could be wrong, or was wrong with it. The SC is a nice feature, but if it were mine, Id be driving the &#$% out of it...You dont put one on to go grocery shopping or golfing...LOL

My '00 Limited 4X4 is currently sitting at 247k miles. The S/C was installed at the dealer when it was brand new. It was a one owner car when I bought it at 212k miles. The only thing that's been done to it was a new engine, due to the mechanic either not using a new crank pulley bolt, or it being under torqued. The work had just been done when I bought it. Between 200-300 miles later it came out and ended up destroying the crank. I had 2 choices, either tear down the engine to replace the crank and rebuild it, or find a used engine. I ended up buying a JDM import engine with around 30k miles. Swapped the S/C over, and kept on rolling. Ended up costing me a little under 3k to go that route. I was honestly disappointed, because I wanted to see what I could have gotten out of that factory engine. It still ran like a beast!! Still on the factory trans at 247k with 0 issues. The original owner had it lifted on a 3" OME lift, so I don't think it was babied. Regardless of how he drove it...I drive it like I stole it!!

Haha just now saw this. Mine is screaming for a supercharger like his. With 130k miles, 4WD, Sport Edition, 2002, that thing would probably sell for $8k where I'm at no problem without the SC. Dothan's about 5 hours from me, I'm seriously debating going there, buying it, swaping intakes for the supercharger and then putting it back on craigslist. Decisions, Decisions...

Maybe the seller doesn't realize that it has a supercharger, and is tired of that whining noise the 4Runner always makes under acceleration.

It doesn't make sense that the supercharger isn't mentioned in the ad.

Been thinking about this thing all day since I've seen this... It's been posted for 3 weeks now. It may be sold, but if not he might take a lowball offer on it. It almost certainly had the pink milkshake considering the rebuilt tranny, new radiator, cap, and upper hose. If he would take a lowball offer on it I think there's a good chance it could be worth it, even a chance I come out even after I pull the supercharger for mine.

Is this a stupid idea? What does everyone think a 2002 Sport Edition 4WD w/130k miles is worth in that condition? It actually looks really clean on the outside and inside.
