Thoughts on going from a 5th gen to Tundra?

The current Tundra was styled when Toyota decided to make the 1/2 Ton truck BIG...its got big this...big that...heavy this..heavy that. While other full size trucks feels as if they drive much smaller than they are....the Tundra drives like a truck designed 10yrs ago. Of course it was and throwing some added, although still late, tech into it hasn't helped much.
Now with that said some dealers are makinig great deals on them...so if you don't need to wheel, park in tight garages or parking lots and don't mind a truck 12-13 years behind the curve, albeit dependable....go for it.

I have test driven Tundras with the intention of buying one 3 times. Every time I wound up with a Tacoma instead. They are just SO big. Honestly I was cross shopping 4 door Tacomas and 4Runners the last time I bought and the biggest reason I went with a 4Runner was they were a lot cheaper used. It's not my first 4Runner (I had an 86 and a 00) but I have had this one 2 years now and rarely miss having a truck. I've hauled more building materials in this one than I did in my last 2 Tacomas. And the dog can ride in the back instead of in the back seat. That's a HUGE plus for me.

Between 2003 and 2019 over two 4Runners and a Tundra, I originally went in with intent to buy a Tacoma. All three times, I was unable to find an acceptable seat position in the Taco (I'm 6'-1"). They seemed to be designed for shorter drivers. I understand they now have height adjustment capability but not sure they expanded headroom. I need to test drive one next time I'm at the dealer.
