Looking for a bumper to mount a winch and like this approach from Hefty Fabworks, with a steel base and aluminum cover. Would anyone that has one installed weigh in on it, here or message me?

Not a bad option, IMO. I'm a big fan of lightweight insert-style bumpers and at 55lbs, that ones pretty light. If I configure it to be the same as my WARN insert bumper, it's about 1000 bucks, plus 100 bucks shipping, making it $1100.

Compare that to what I got from Warn for about 750.00 bucks with free shipping, (which is now about $850.00 - i hate inflation) about 3 days after i ordered it (as opposed to 2.5 months for the Banshee, according to their website)

Amazon.com: WARN 100022 Semi-Hidden Fixed Winch Mount, Fits: Toyota 4Runner (2014-2018) : Automotive

I've bounced this sucker off rocks, taken in through some whoops and buried the nose in snow and mud.

Weighs in at 85ish lbs - so definitely heavier - and while it has great access to my Warn winch, it's styling is a bit different. it came with a hoop already for that price, which has actually been pretty useful as a tool mount, or just something to grab when getting under the front of the truck.

Anywho, That Banshee model should probably do ya pretty good, if you like the price and can wait for it. It's definitely winning the weight competition and it looks pretty slick.

I have one. Its been great. Good design, can easily remove winch without removing bumper if needed. No complaints, everything fit well with no mods....except you do have to trim an inch on a trd skid (which they tell u)

I also like the way the fairlead is directly lined up with the winch spool and how its recessed. Looks a bit more stealthy and not just bolted on the outermost skin like other bumpers.

Thank you for the feedback and pic. Which winch do you have mounted to the Banshee?

Thank you for the feedback, which winch do you run? I have the RCI skid plate, so I wonder how that will fit… Will call them.

What do you do for front license plate mounting?

I have the Warn as well. It's tough and gives a bit more visibility to the winch itself. I plan on installing lights underneath the hoop at some point, just need to get off my butt.

HF is fantastic from what I’ve seen. I personally don’t own any of his stuff, but I see the quality of his products often and he is very active on social media and has made a name for himself.
His lead times are some of the best, too.

Just to wrap this item, got the Hefty Banshee with black powdercoat and Warn EVO winch. Have RCI aluminum skids and cut the steel filler plate to fit the bumper so there’s full protection from the bumper back.
