Three New Mods.

Well the Mod-Bug has been biting at me a little extra lately, so I felt the need to put some new things on my 4runner. I did all three of these mods for under 50 dollars, too!

First Mod: Deckplate Mod.

Total Cost: $12 plus the cost of half a tank of gas from driving all over South Alabama trying to find one.

Second Mod: Firestik.

Total Cost: $25 (Only because I bought the actual Firestik from my buddy for $5)

Third Mod: Maglite Clips.

Total Cost: $5 (Cheapest and probably the most handy. Who doesnt need a flashlight and it would be a nice thing to hit someone over the head with. Haha.)

I think you need more sealant on your deckplate.


What sealant is that? it resembles windshield sealant which isn't good to use.

Its not. It is actually silicone gasket maker, and its sensor-safe. Which its the same thing as sealant. Is that why it wouldn't be good to use windshield sealant?

Looks like someone needs to clean there 4Runner out! Haha, but anyways I like the flashlight mount, and you can't go wrong with the deckplate mod! :bigok:

I know I know it needs the be cleaned out. I have had baseball 7 days a week since January, so it gets neglected a bit.

And I got them off of Amazon.com.

You can find a deckplate at almost any boat supply store-if you don't have any near you they are online and less money but more to ship.

Essentially you are cutting a hole in your air box and replacing it with this frame (the deckplate moulding). When you want to go back to a closed airbox (maybe a deep water crossing) you simply screw the deckplate back into its threaded connection. When you want to have it open you just unscrew the deckplate and keep it in your truck for when you need it.
