ticking noise

i have a ticking noise when ever i am stopped and in drive and have my foot on the break but as soon as i let off the break the noise stops! does anyone have any idea of what this could be 97 4runner

well, if you haven't done so, use the search button and try to find an answer. but i think it's a typical problem for a 4runner. alot of people gets those ticking noise but haven't really found out what it is. unless someone did?

if u have a custom exhaust it may be that. i have a flowmaster muffler and i had it in drive and foot ont he break and had my friend go under (no too smart ha) but he siad it was comming from the hinge and he held it and it stopped so im assuming its that but mabey its the tranny not sure.
