Tire Choices

My 2010 SR5 has 57K miles and I guess its time for a tire change. I am looking at Michellin LTX M/S2 and or Continental LX20..ANy recommendations and thoughts from users?

I'm on my second set of LTX M/S2's and love them. Amazing wet traction and smooth/quiet ride on the pavement. They're aggressive enough for moderate trail use and tow well. I made the mistake of getting the lighter load rated tires on my first set and only got 40k miles out of them. Get the "E" rated version. They're heavier but I haven't noticed much MPG loss and they wear and tow better. Make sure you rotate every or every other oil change and they'll wear evenly. Hopefully I'll get 70k+ miles out of them.

LTX M/S2 is the clear choice for me. Had them on an explorer and got an honest 92,000 miles out of them. That's mostly on road, but they did go off road 5 or 6 days a week. Didn't have a way to air them down and still were great for sand and moderate off road. Have them on a Pilot, had them on a Chevy Tracker. Great tire and if your keep your rig long enough to wear them out, very low cost per mile. As always rotate every 5K, and watch your inflation pressure.

Personally I would never buy contintental tires....I think they don't wear we'll and are prone to chopping. I like my Firestone dest. At and next would be the michelins (more $).
