Tire pressure light is on

Hey everybody, I am new to these forums. I just picked my 4runner up 4 weeks ago. The tire pressure light was on when I test drove the car, but got them to turn it off. 3 1/2 weeks later it is on again. Does this come on a lot or do you think there is a slow leak in one of the tires? I am not sure how to get it to turn off. Thanks for any of your input.

Check the tire pressure in all 5 tires (including the spare). If one gets down below 27 psi, the light comes on. It will go out shortly after all tires are back up to a good pressure.

This is also the time of year where cool nights will make the pressure drop a bit, and warm days make the pressure go back up. If the pressure is close to that 27-28 psi area, you may see the effect of the weather with the light going on and off.

The tire pressure system is called Tire Pressure Monitoring System, or TPMS. If you search for "TPMS", you'll find lots and lots of posts about it and how it works.
