TIRES: BFG Mud Terrain or Interco TrXus MT

Based on seeing these tires on friends vehicles first hand I would definitly go with the BFG MT because they last a TON longer on the road and still do great and are proven offroad.
 
i have the interco trxus m/t's. i have run them for about 20k or more, and they are not even at half tread yet. they are great on road, and awesome off. plus, you can air them down super low because of the load range E rating (on my 285/75/16's anyhow).

they have excellent factory siping, are not that loud, and are cheap too. i got mine for $150/each.
 
ok so far I'm 1-1...what do you guys think about the Dunlop Mud Rover's? They are considerably cheaper, and still an agressive tred pattern. How do they compare with the BFG and Interco?
 
i am not too familiar with the mud rovers. i have the trxus. that is all i know. lee has the procomp m/t's, and our buddy has the cooper sst's.

i can only give you my first hand experience.
 
BFG's are the best all-around off road tires. They last 2X as most mud tires, they ride well on the pavement, and they work well off road. If you do a lot of beach driving you might look at the AT/KO's. I've had about 10 kinds of mud and AT tires on my Jeep over the last 15 years and the BFG's are all I'll run now. AT's on one Jeep and MT's on the others. I only run Michelins for highway tires.
 
ok so Dunlops are out. I can get the Interco for about 100 dollars (per 4 tires) cheaper than the BFG. Is the extra 100 worth it? I might want to mention that I am on a tight budget, but I will take the BFG if they are what you recommend.

I've run buckshots, turdbirds (thornbirds), swamper ssr's, dunlop mudrovers, BFG trail ta's, and wranger RTS's. I FINALLY broke down and got the BFG MT/KM's and really wish I'd done it earlier. I always said "I can get these tires for $XXX cheaper than the BFG's so I'll get these this time and will get the BFG's next time. What I've learned is that every time I do that I HATE whatever it is I settled for because there is almost always a reason that item A was cheaper than item B, and when you get the cheaper you will quickly find out why item A was cheaper. I have no complaints at all on my BFG's after 3 years. They have almost no wear, they ride well, they are wearing evenly, and they perform in the mud much better than any other tire I've tried (mostly in MS river bottoms/gumbo). Tires are a good example of "you get what you pay for". I'm going to be putting Michelin cross terrains on the wife's 4runner in the next month or so. Sure I can find cheaper tires but the last few sets of michelin street tires I've run have given me 80K/set so I think the little bit of extra money is well worth it. If she ever took the thing off the pavement I'd be putting the BFG AT/KO's on the runner. I would NOT suggest the BFG trail TA's/long trail/anything other than the AT/KO's or the MT/KM's. Both have made me very happy. I did NOT like the BFG trail TA's and the BFG tires I got for my Accord absolutely SUCKED. Nothing but Michelin Xradial on the Honda from now on......
 
just wanted to make sure you skip out on the dunflop m/t's

they have a really bad reputation
