To Change or not to Change (Sealed tranny at 130k)

You will want to have a helper to start and stop the engine. I didn't time it, but pumping out 3 quarts was probably around 8-10 seconds.
Drain and refill pan, disconnect cooler line, start engine. Stop engine when your measured container is full, then add the same amount of new fluid to the pan. Repeat until you are happy with the amount changed. Adjust fluid level using the temperature check mode.
There are tons of detailed write ups around the internet. The A750 is the same trans used in 05+ V6 Tacomas, V6 Tundra, FJC, etc
I was wondering if one could simply drain the WS fluid when it is "cool", measure exactly what comes out, and replace that same amount. This would avoid the temperature check. Then repeat this two or three more times over a period of days and your fluid would be nearly new. One could then do a final check at temperature to ensure proper level.

Works just fine that way, but checking level is painfully easy if you're overfilled first.
Basically, all you do is bring the coolant gauge up to full temp and then stall a little bit while you run the shifter through the gears, then put it in park while still idling and pull the overflow plug.

First off....hey everyone. Just joined. Great info on here!
I can help w the tranny questions. I had an 06' (have an 08' now) and I waited until 90k to change my fluid. It was BLACK. That lifetime fluid is nonsense.
I can tell you there is also a filter in the tranny that should be changed. It's a though job but after my mechanic showed me the fluid and filter I was blown away how dirty it was.
Even after that there is still a little old fluid left in the case as it never completely drains so the drain and fill method during your next 3 oil changes should do the trick to get it all clean. Then repeat every so often to keep it fresh.
