Took My New TRD Pro Off Road

New member
Bought a new TRD Pro in LA on Saturday and couldn't wait to take it off road, so on Sunday I went up to the Sierra National Forest and did some off-roading. Vehicle is amazing and did everything and more than I've been used to with a CR-V (which probably shouldn't be a surprise).

Here's a few pics of it one day after being taken off the lot.

Points for actually using the thing for what it was designed for... fresh out of the box too.

Nice, they'll give you the finger because deep inside the're jealous of how great your 4runner looks offroad and how their jeep looks just like everyone elses.

But really your truck looks great, i've never really been a fan of red but yours offroad like that makes me want one. :eyebrows:

I've always been a fan of Red, but steered away from vehicles in Red for whatever reason. However the Red and black wheels/front end were just killer looking to me and I had to get it.

Of course that made finding one twice as hard as they don't make a ton in Red.

I got mine from a state that requires front plates. I took the bracket off and the screw holes are pretty gnarly. Considering shelling out the $170 for a new lower valance now.

If you actually use the truck, that part of it will see some better days.

How about a couple of carriage bolts, round head, paint them gray?
Probably .58 cents apiece.

Before my Pro arrived I left specific instructions not to install the front mount and although a front plate is required in this state they complied. I "ensured" them I'll have a front tag when they arrive.

Your Pro looks awesome! Love the red.

If I ordered mine I probably would have done that, but I originally wasn't looking for a Pro, just so happened to find a red one (color I wanted in a Off Road) that didn't have a waitlist. Dealer wanted way too much for it, but after a day of negotiating I was able to knock them down to where I was comfortable and where they were.

I have some specialized tags coming in, and the one nice thing about California is you can order the classic tags, so they'll be black and that'll blend in pretty nice with the bumper. Though I of course would rather not have one there.

Thanks, the vehicle gets a lot of compliments. Absolutely love the thing.
