Torque Pro App Settings

Can anyone help by sharing their settings for the Torque Pro app? I downloaded it to try and understand exactly my fuel efficiency and other parameters but it's pretty confusing for a newbie.

Here's what I have entered for my vehicle profile:

2005 4runner V8 4WD
4.7L - Displacement
6,005 - lb Total Vehicle Weight
Petrol - Fuel Type
23gal - Fuel Tank Capacity
7,000 - Max Dial RPM
$2.65 - Fuel Cost/gal (87 octane in Texas)
1.0 - MPG Trim (haven't adjusted this yet as I'm still on first tank)

1) Does anything in the vehicle profile need to change?
2) I usually put the middle octane, 89, but will using lower 87 or higher 91/93 yield better mpg? Is there a recommended one for the v8 models?
3) I understand the trip odometer in the dash and the one on the center console are not accurate, especially since I have a different tire size on at the moment, so is this the proper method for determining future average mpg going forward?

a) Fill tank all the way and reset dash odometer.
b) At the same time, start tracking trips in the torque pro app.
c) When tank finishes, compare the dash odometer total to the summation of trips traveled in app? (clicking on "Map View" and adding all the trip miles)
d) This will give me a difference from what odometer is showing compared to the gps based calculation in the torque pro app

4) The below screenshot is the setup I have for MPG. The trip distance box always resets to 0 every time I go for a drive while the MPG average stays counting on every drive. Therefore, it's not that straightforward to get the total miles driven per tank.

Therefore, I usually have to go to "Map View" and add all these distances per trip to get total driven since last fill up. Is there a better way than this?

If you've made it this far, thank you for reading. Any help is greatly appreciated. I feel like people swear by this app and I want to use it to its full potential. As of now, I just don't see the hype.

Thank you.

Seems like a pretty complicated way to calculate your mileage. Or...just do a tire size comparison, figure out the difference as a percentage, and do the math at each fill-up like most people.

In case you don't feel like doing the work...the internet provides: https://tiresize.com/comparison/

Put in your sizes, hit compare. The difference in percentage of the circumference is the factor that will change your odometer reading.

I'm digging around trying to find all the torque settings for things like transmission temperature and such. I guess those aren't built into the default profile.

Thanks for providing the site. I see it shows the difference of speed and other parameters but how do I make the conversion for difference of distance traveled? Original tire size was 265/65/17. Now I'm on 275/70/17.

Also, I just went through my first tank and the odometer reading is showing 313.10 miles . On the other hand, adding all my trip distances logged through Torque Pro gave me a total of 343.89 traveled for this tank. I'm not sure how much fuel is left in the tank but it's pretty low, below the lowest marker on dash and "Range" on center info center says "0":

So I'm guessing it used pretty close to the advertised 23 gallon capacity assuming it really does hold 23 gallons. Although last time I ran the tank pretty low and then filled up, the gas pump showed this:

As you can tell, there's a large difference between both odometer and torque pro app figures and I'm not sure which is the more accurate one. When I look at the trip maps, I fear the distance calculated in torque pro is inaccurate considering the paths that it shows. I don't usually drive through peoples lawns lol:

Not sure if you figured the tire size comparison out yet, but using https://tiresize.com/comparison/ your new tires are 5.2% larger, so your new tire travels 5.2% further than the stock tire per rotation, which is what the odometer is calibrated to. So each trip, take the distance recorded by the odometer and multiply by 1.052 and you'll have your actual distance travelled.
