I hit another car going through an intersection about 25/30 mph. Really not sure. I’m wondering about the damage and how likely it’ll bend the frame. My airbags didn’t deploy either which I wasn’t sure if that was something to be concerned about. I took it today to a body shop and they were adamant on it not being totaled and just cosmetic. I just don’t know how to tell if there underlining damage underneath and if I should request to see before they start fixing it.

I’m surprised your airbags didn’t go off either, given the speed you hit the other car.
If all the visible damage is confined to the front end, it doesn’t look too bad to me. But I can’t see how much intrusion into the engine compartment has occurred and what was displaced in there.
If possible, I’d get more than one shop to look at it. Your insurance company will try to weasel out of paying by demanding the body shop cut corners.

Yeah I probably should do that. I just went to the body shop that works with my insurance company and they already took it but won’t give me the quote for a few days. I’m going to ask for it back.
GO TO AN INDEPENDENT PLACE!!! The people that work directly with insurance are typically low skilled, cheap, and looking out for the insurance companies not you.
Honestly ask your dealer since they have more skin in the game preserving the brand. As crazy as that sounds right?

Almost definitely not totaled - especially with the current value of 4Runners.
The reason you air bags didn't go off is that in the grand scheme of things, that was a pretty "soft" hit. When to set airbags off is a very complicated question involving many variables. One of those variables is just how rapidly the vehicle is decelerating. (How 'hard" the impact is.) If the impact isn't very hard, you can actually cause more harm to the occupants by setting the bags off.
I'd suggest that if you look carefully at the damage and the direction of the hit, you'll see that it was a "crossing" impact almost totally on the bumper cover. Think of the bumper cover as "soft tissue" on you vehicle. If the impact was more on "hard tissue," there might be a need to trigger the bags.
BTW, If the bags had gone off, it would have been much closer to a total because replacing the bags is so expensive.
None of these so called experts should guess at it.
First thing is to check the wheel alignment on a proper rack, if good chances are the frame is good and not "racked"
Still best is to put it up on a frame machine and the proper points measured with Toyota specs using a datum line as reference.
If left unchecked, it might look good but also might dogleg down the road. Google that.
If all that is good, then it's just replacement parts and paint. Also check the engine and especially the tranny for case cracks.
It's all a numbers game, but seriously dosn't look too bad. :wink2:

That does not appear to be close to totaled given the year and mileage. Either way most likely better off fixing it and beating it on down the line should you choose owing to prices currently.
If that was 20-30 MPH, really does make me wonder how fast the person who blew though a light and flipped my ‘21 ORP was driving.

Thank you for the input! That makes a lot of sense. The guy at the body shop asked if I had just been sideswiped in the front but I had directly hit the whole side of the other car full on but I hit it so hard that I pushed him to that direction and he spun all the way behind me. So I guess the impact plus the way the car was turning made him go that direction which pulled all of the bumper that direction if that makes any sense
