Hey everyone!

So my battery died the other day (I know this because my electrical wouldnt work at all). I just replaced it with a Yellow Top Optima. Now everything electrical is working great. I started up my car a few times with little trouble but I figured that was the new battery charging the system or something. Now my car wants to turn over but I can not get it to turn on. It smells like fuel and Im worried it is flooding the system, something isnt right. Could this be a fuel pump or mass air flow, etc??? I cant figure it out and am open to discussion and suggestions.

Car tries to turn over but will not start. It wants to, trust me. 260,000 miles, 3rd gen 3.4L.
PLEASE HELP!

Thanks All

Do you mean it cranks but won't start?
Do you know anyone with an OBD-II reader to see if there are any codes that may help?

Exactly, it cranks but wont start. I have a Scanguage and its not throwing any codes.

UPDATE: I took out my EFI fuse and let my car sit for a while just in case it was flooding. I went out, put the EFI back in, and half turned my key to let my electrical start up. Then turned the key and it fired right up. Im letting it run in my driveway for a little while to warm up then will take it for a drive and see if the problem persists. Ill let everyone know what happens when I drive it and try to start it up again when its warm.

Ok, so I drove it for a while after letting the engine warm up and it has a little bit of a rough idle. I stopped at a friends after about a 20min drive and turned the car off. I immediately tried to start it and it fired right up (engine was warm). I will update again when I try to go home in an hour or 2, engine should be cold by then.

Think happy thoughts

Car started fine and drove good, no more rough idle issues as far as I can tell. Im still confused on what the problem was... Anyway with the cold weather and snow predicted for tomorrow I hope my car doesnt have any problems tomorrow morning.

The computer had to reset itself, and reprogram. Like you said, turn the key and wait for all the clicks and reprogramed.

Especially when all the power is lost from a dead battery.
