Intermittent no start 2019 4Runner

My wife has a 2019 4Runner. At least 2 years ago I installed a startx remote start system in it and we’ve had no issuesuntil recently. 2 weeks ago the 4Runner was acting weird where when you’d hit the brakes the radio would shut off and restart and the lights would dim and come right back. My wife also noted that once or twice she attempted to remote start it and it would just crank, but not start. It always started when she started it with the key though. Some quick searching led me to suspect the battery, so I changed it last weekend and it’s been fine since. Fast forward to today and she went to remote start it at work and it was cranking, but not starting. She then got in and attempted to start it with the key and same thing. After letting it sit for a minute she tried again and it started.

The first 2 suspects I thought was the remote start is faulty, or fuel pump? I had a 2019 Tacoma which I know had issues with the fuel pumps failing and the trucks not starting, and they were recalled.

Has anyone else experienced this?

Aftermarket remote start systems are notorious for causing issues. Since you have already replaced the battery that would be my next move. Uninstall remote start and see if the problem persists after restoring wiring to stock.

Had a similar issue with a different remote start, gave me nothing but electrical gremlins. Definitely would start with it
