Toyota 4Runner Limited Modifications

Hello 4Runner community,

I just bought a 4Runner Limited 2015 and would like to know if i can switch the SR5 front/rear bumpers with the 4Runner Limited front/rear bumpers to get better clearance at the front and end of the 4Runner Limited?

FYI: In my country we only get 4x2 SR5 and 4x4 Limited models. In any case i had to import a vehicle and it will cost more doing it than actually buying any of those models. (that sucks).

Any help with this modification?

i would be interested as this as well. Since I daily drive I want all the fancy stuff in the LE, but hate that front bumper and the skids.

If you are willing to drop enough coin you can do many things. There are more parts and cost to swap out the front plastic bumpers imho, but why not just go with a steel bumper and sliders and call it good? Probably will get an even better approach/departure angle and more stout as well. However, what you originally asked can be done, you just have to be willing to change out and paint multiple body pieces.

Thanks!
I know people have done it on the 13's on down. I wanna keep a "superstock" look. Get the trail or sr5 bumper and get that hybrid winch bumpe that is people have started getting.

With the slimline winch bumper you remove the center chrome bar completely if I recall correctly. Remove the splitter under the bumper (separate piece) to increase clearance. I did the FJ Summit with a stock suspension/bumper LE and had no issues what so ever. If you are taking it offroad (assuming that's what you want the clearance for), do get some RCI/Budbuilt/Shrockworks skids front to back.

Okki

EDIT: just checked and it does not cover the chrome bar in the center bumper. Next option would be to plastidip it.

I have a virtually brand new, 2015 Trail Edition front bumper in Magnetic Gray that I'd be willing to sell you for a very reasonable price. It includes the fog lights as well. I replaced the bumper the second day I got my 4Runner with a shrockworks front bumper, so it's just sitting in storage in Denver.

The 14 and 15 Limited does not have a removable splitter. It just has 2 small sections that can be removed for better access to the tow hooks. Eventually I will cut the splitter off mine. The Limited has a goofy air scoop under the splitter that directs air to the front skid plate. I did remove that before it got knocked off. You will definitely want to replace the gas tank skid plate because the limited just covers the front part of the gas tank. I installed an RCI gas tank skid plate.

Hi Shufly,

I live in Denver. Realize I am replying to an old post, but wondering if you might still have that 2015 Trail bimp to r you mentioned.

Also, will post more but I am curious for any details about swapping a Limited bumper for a SR5, Trail, or TRD?
