Other then the dealer, where can one get red antifreeze for toyota's?

Yep, that's it. I ordered 6 gallons from my local Napa, and it was even pretty cheap. Like $11/gal. Great stuff.

I have noticed that all (I have seen on T4R) of the Pink milkshake issues seem to be from trucks running the red coolant. This is probably a coincidence.

I saw it in carquest just the other day for $22 a gallon but I bought it cheaper from the dealer....perks of being in a local club and getting a discount.

Yep Carquest has it at around 22, cheaper than I paid at the dealer.

I once spoke with a retired toyota tech who worked for toyota for 30somethim years...he recommended dexcool to me. For those who don't know that's GM coolant. I didn't put it in my runner tho.

Anyone else ever hear this or was this old man out of his mind. Either he's really dumb or im really dumb

dexcool is bad. it is known for causing corrosion (ive had several GM cars over the last 12 years).
I recently flushed the cooling system in my 98 t4r, I got rid of the green and now use pink. Toyota lists it as sllc (super long life coolant)

Toyota has always used phosphates for fighting corrosion. Dex-cool has none. It does have 2-EHA which turns gaskets into mush. Honda has banned DexCool from their vehicles for this reason. I'd say he's dumb. I'd NEVER put it in my Toyota.

BTW, Dexcool is the worst stuff out there. Caused a lot of rust in my 2000 camaro. It ended up over heating and blew the engine. Don't use Dexcool!

I was going to put Dexcool 5 year in my Dodge Diesel pu because i don't drive it much and only wanted to change every 5 years. This is when dexcool had only been out for about 5 years.

I went to a GM dealer and they had a sign that recommended changing anti freeze every 4 years. So I told GM dealer that i thought Dexcool was 5 year and they said that they were finding sludge in the cooling systems after 4 years. GM recommended to stick with the 2 year green stuff for my Dodge.

Toyota Red is a phosphated OAT. Toyota Pink is a phosphated HOAT, as is the Zerex Asian from NAPA. Toyota put out a TSB that said you can mix Red and Pink or top up one with the other. So logic suggests you can top up the Red with the Zerex Asian...unless I'm missing something. Zerex Asian is very close to a clone of the Pink. Pink has one ASTM cert that ZA does not, but I have not been able to discover if it would fail or just hasn't been tested.

If I remember correctly, the Toy pink is just the 50/50 blend of Toy red and distilled water. I would only use the Toyota Red/pink mix, it was in there when I got it so I stick with it - zero problems. You can get it from the dealer or order online easy enough. I paid $28 at the Stealership.

This is a common misconception. They are different technologies.

Red ingredients:

Toyota Red Long Life ingredients from jug: Ethylene Glycol(107-21-1),Diethylene Glycol(111-46-6) Water(7732-18-5) Orangic Acid Salt(532-32-1) Hydrated Inorganic Salt(1310-58-3).

Pink ingredients:

Water (7732-18-5), Ethylene Glycol (107-21-1), Diethylene Glycol (111-46-6), Sebacic Acid (111-20-6), Potassium Hydroxide (1310-58-3).
