toyota discontinued 4Runner?

I seen a bunch of ads on tv for toyota rav4 and others but haven't seen anything on the 4Runner, is toyota still making it?

If Toyota ever stopped making the 4runner a body on frame truck with a solid rear end, I would prefer that they just discontinue the 4Runner. Last thing I want is another Nissan Mallfinder.

Look for Ads to appear when the new model actually arrives in dealerships. They're just reaching the first few dealers right now. My local dealer told me if they ordered one now it would be here mid October.

I wasn't kidding with this thread. I haven't seen a tv ad for the 4Runner for over year which made me think they replaced it which would have been insane. love my 96 so much, it's a great suv that really holds to the ground on sharp turns and has some great pickup when you hit the gas.

I spoke with a service manager here in Denver when I took my truck in to get it checked out and he mentioned that they are supposed to stop making them after the 6th gen model.

I doubt that Toyota has gone that far ahead with their planning. They are discontinuing the 4Runner/150 Platform based GX460 with some TX crossover pile of ****.

Toyota will most likely retain the 4Runner for as long as they can as it is their only mid-sized Body on Frame SUV and they keep lampooning how they are proud of it. There has been some talk about the FJ Cruiser being dropped, but its mostly based on Toyota's Fleet menu; which honestly I have never seen a Fleet FJ Cruiser, so I have no clue what that means and would
suspect that's why its being removed from that section of sales.

But to be honest with you I have never seen a Toyota 4Runner advertised on TV, some magazines... but rarely. Actually the only 4Runner TV advertisements I found were some 3rd gen ads posted in the 3rd gen section. I don't think Toyota ever really advertised heavily on the 4Runner?
