Toyota meetups around Boston?

I was wondering if there are any Toyota or 4Runner meetups with specific interest in overlanding around the Boston area. There doesn't seem to be that many of us around here. I've joined a couple overlanding groups that I've found on Facebook, but I'm finding that a lot of people around here bucket overlanding with just plain off-roading and that mostly caters to jeep people. No offense to jeep people or people who enjoy weekend wheeling, I've just found that it leads to a different type of enthusiast. Seems like all the best Toyota and overlanding folks are out west.

I've been recently introduced to the Vermont Overland Rally, which I think I'm going to join this year. Hopefully I'll meet some of you there!

Your assessment of the New England off-roading scene is spot on. Mostly jeepers. I've been contemplating selling my rig to get some quads for the family to do trail riding with friends

Man I miss having my dirt bike when I wanted to explore some trails. I'm trying to make the overlanding thing work up here just as it does out west, but it's a ton of work to negotiate with land owners to open up pieces of their property so that you can map routes that are worthwhile. I'd love to map a trip starting somewhere in Maine or Hew Hampshire and make my way up into to Nova Scotia.
 
Recently relocated to MA from Arizona, and would definitely like to connect with more Toyota enthusiasts out here.

Haven't done much yet to see what's out there, but not expecting the offroading or the groups to be quite the same as out West.
 
Probably not much because everyone's 4Runner rusted away since the ocean is less salty than land in NE during winter.
 
New to 4runners and 4x4s in general and wouldn't mind finding some "fire roads" or whatever to explore a bit. My guess as this really does not exist in this area due to population and limited open space. I daily drive my 4runner so not looking to do anything too technical or taxing on my vehicle itself. Anything down "the cape" like that?

Edit: I just got back from driving my Runner to Montreal for the weekend. I stayed in the city and parked in a nice warm garage. Driving back was a little nerv wracking as it was -5f with 50 mile cross winds with occasional white outs just north of the border through the farm country...

I had some luck meeting a few cool people on ExploringNH.org that will sometimes do guided tours in New Hampshire and there's an amazing non-profit group called Vermont Overland that hosts several rallies a year. Their events can be pretty pricy, but it attracts a whole different level of offroad and overlanding enthusiasts.

There's practically nothing legal in MA unless you buy a beach pass for the cape, that's kind of fun. Most of the places I've been have either been in New Hampshire, Maine, or Vermont.
 
i was actually thinking of doing the Vermont Overland rally as well. There's a guy on youtube from MA named Kevin with a 4runner who does alot of offroading with a group.
 
I am in update NY, about 2-1/2 hours from the Boston area.
I went to the cape in the fall with some guys from New England Overland. Great group but definitely more of a jeep group than a Toyota group.
I would be down for meet ups in the spring once I'm medically released to drive again. I also have a large stockpile of parts building up since it's parked for the winter.
NH is easily one of the best places to legally explore in the NE. It's one my list for the summer
