Toyota name badges on a 3rd gen .... Douchy or No?

So I've seen a lot of posts lately (here and on FB) about the new Toyota name badges.

I've seen a wide variance of name badges.

Two questions:


What is yours?


Are you in favor of putting a name badge on your truck? (For those who haven't done it yet)

no, not a fan of advertising to standout unless it's for business/income, and unfortunately there's currently no planned future income that this truck will bring.

The point is to be different and unique, I don't see how that's any different than putting bumpers or stickers or plastidip or debadging, etc.

I ordered two saying Long Travel and snivilous, when they come in I'm undecided if I'll put them once I debadge the back. I'm not too big on the size/font from the pictures I've seen though.

Not everyone who debadges, places bumper stickers, or dare I say plastidip their vehicles does so to be different/unique.

Your sentence doesn't make a lot of sense... but if it says what I think it says, I don't recall the guy you quoted saying anything close to that.

Confused what name badges OP is talking about. Are you referring to naming our vehicle like a rich couple names their yacht?

Mine says thunder runner. I was missing the original badging as well as the paint under it so after touching up my thundercloud gray runner paint this was a perfect way to cover up the slight paint difference. I also painted them black.

I got my "douchy" name badge from the Toyota dealer that prints them for free, via that link here on the forum somewhere. It was free, and the lettering is identical in format to all the original badging. I thought it was a cool idea. My truck will always be "jitters" to me because of all the front end issues I had when I first bought it.

Is this anything like the annoying stick figures people in mini-vans always have on their rear windows showing dad, mom and like 8 kids and a dog that I always want to run off the road? Stickers like that?

That's so funny, I've always thought debadged looks very douchy. Not that I give a shit what other people do to their cars as long as safety isn't compromised.

It is a freedom of expression so it doesn't matter to me one bit. But I have never named an automobile, and won't start now via a badge or any other way.

However, if one buys a boat and doesn't name it, that is a different story altogether.

Thanks for pointing that out. Fixed it. Bad grammar by a slip of the finger. It directly addresses his first statement.

I will if they ever show up. I tried for fj juicy and jeep lol. I had to mix up the letters since they wouldn't let you use brand names.
