Howdy, my name is Ryan
I have a white toyota tacoma base that is 2wd. I am moving out to Santa Barbara California and in seek of advice of what the truck will be capable of offroad! I have offroaded in other vehicles, 2wds, 4x4s, and have experience. I'm wondering of others experience with base 2wds, or just 2wds offroad.
I don't want to rock crawl or do anything extreme, but I need to get back into the mountains to camping, rock climbing, mountain biking, hunting spots, etc., through the dirt roads where others can't get. The tires are basic, but I may be getting new offroad tires. The bottom of the truck is not flat, there are suspension bars that are visible near the rear tires, there is no lift in the truck. I don't think that there is a rear lock differential. It is an inline v4. It is a beautiful truck with 115,000 miles. It has a lot of power and even though it does not have an offroad package I can see trying it out. From what I read a lot of the dirt roads are easily passable with a 2wd. The picture is a 2007 toyota tacoma base 2wd off of google that looks exactly like my truck.
