Toyota to Close Factories Temporarily

Saw that yesterday too. Another not so suprising fact...Toyota reported 2008 4Runner total calendar year-end sales of 47,878 units, down 45.4% from prior year. I believe that is the lowest production figure I can recall from the 14 or so years I have tracked that data for on my 4R history pages.

Quite revealing. It is a challenging time, and I hope this administration gets it right. They are practically giving the 4Runner away. I saw one ad in Florida where if a buyer pays full price for a Dodge Ram Truck, you get a second new car FREE. Unreal.

It really has nothing to do with the 4R itself , just a sign of the times we are in. Sales suck for everything and everyone sad to say. I heard the Mustang/Bunny Ranch is doing well though
