For some reason I'm unable to post the topic in the correct subforum (no permission to post topics).

I have a brand new in box Toytec TRD Pro Lift that I'm unable to install on my truck right now. Rather than have it sit in my garage unused I'd like to sell it.

I'd do $375 OBO shipped anywhere in continental US paid via PayPal (or local pickup) It's $399+shipping on Toytec's website.

Hello,
i just bought a 5th Generation 4 Runner TD-Pro that already had this kit installed.

My question is: considering we plan to keep this 4 Runner for the long term... is this mod going to cause problems in the future like abnormal wear of joints or so?

Currently i have 40k miles, we plan to do some mild off roading, or to say it better "Overlanding", but regardless we plan to keep it just as much as we kept our previous 4 Runner... 180-200k miles.

So, is this kid going to affect out suspensions and joints life?
THANKS FOR THE INFO

(p.s.: i posted here because i am unable to post new threads yet, and this seemed the closest thread"

Take this with a grain of salt...

I have a '17 pro and I installed this lift maybe a month or so ago. I brought it in for the 10k service and ended up chatting with the service manager for a little bit. Essentially in the long run, yes you can probably wear certain parts out a little faster with the angle change you are doing to the suspension (see: CV boots, control arm bushings, sway links). Obviously how much faster they wear depends on how you drive it. If you're bouncing off rocks and binding up your drivetrain then expect it sooner than later. However, talking to the manager about warranties... He said as long as the failed part is Toyota and under warranty, they will fix it. Even with my lift and the increased stress due to the angles, he said "you break it, I'll fix it". So if you happen to have had the warranty transferred to you (if still available), then I say go nuts and enjoy it. When my warranty expires though, I plan on a full suspension rehaul. Total Chaos makes a *****in' long travel kit for 4runners that I will be drooling over for a while.

Hope that helps some!

Anything helps for sure!

i doubt we still have the Warranty, but even if so, it will expire at some point.
My Fiancee owned a 4th Generation 4Runner Sport V8 4WD... we just sold it with 188k miles and never had any major mechanical problem.

We really would wish to be able to obtain the same, but at the same time, we bought this TRD-Pro with the idea of doing some mild off road and go on family adventures.

This 4 Runner is equipped with this 2" kit with:

1" Spacer on top of the Front Springs
1" Spacer on the Bottom of the Spring

and i believe it has a 2" Spacer on top of the Back Springs, but i am not sure, maybe they put the longer Spring Plus a 1" spacer.

anyway, he said he did no more than 2" because if he did more, he would have had to change the Upper control arms and he didn't want to go that far...

So really, it is not much of an extreme lift, but it still is lifted some.

Maybe we can bring it down... half way???

I wouldn't go as far as taking half of the lift off. The back end of that lift is just larger coils (no spacers) which gives it the rise, so it wouldnt be an option really unless you can get your hands on the stock springs (which I have from mine if you really want). I was going to say that getting some after-market upper control arms would certainly help a little bit, they generally have stonger ball joints and will be one less thing to worry about on that part of the IFS. Plus you can really get the alignment dialed in, my local shop told me they can get it close to the original alignent but not 100% without adjustable or after-market UCA's. I don't mean to cause any concern either, I have total faith that mine will last 40-50k and I could sell it to someone with a clean conscious. You may need to replace bushings and ball joints at some point before 180k, but I mean, c'mon, that still pretty dang impressive! I had a chevy that needed a complete suspension overhaul sans the steel parts at 80k...

Hello,
i went out and took some pics of the Suspensions... it looks like he added something more than just the Toytec Lift, so i will probably try to remove just that additional part.

Anyway, i posted the pictures here... let me know what you think:

Thank you for explaining what issues i may encounter
