Hey guys. After looking for 3 months, I finally found the right T4R for me, so now it's time to sink a stupid amount of money into it! I got brakes (slotted rotors and EBC pads), and tires (Toyo 265 A/Ts), and I'm thinkin a 3" lift is next. I read through the lift kit sticky, which was helpful, but I'm still having a hard time deciding which way to go.
At first, the 3" kit with front and rear OME coils looked like the way to go, but then I read that you really have to go with longer travel shocks to get the full travel advantage. Makes sense, and especially since my shocks are original (100k miles), I think I could use some new ones. My question is this: should I go with the "Complete" kit with spacers that comes with OME shock and coils or is it worth the extra $ for the ultimate lift? Any other good, less expensive options?
The complete kit, spacers, and assembly would come to about $860, which is quite a bit more than the $390 for just the coils. Worth it?
And for only $140 more, I could get the Ultimate Lift with adjustable coilovers. Any significant advantage to this?
Also, I'm not entirely confident that I have the means to do the installation. If I get the complete kit, assembled, is it a simple drop-in lift? Would I need any special tools for the install? I've got impacts and wrenches and stuff, but no coil compressor.
I'm not made of money by any means, but I don't want to regret not spending an extra few bucks to get the right ride characteristics and capability. I only want to do this once!
Thanks for the help, guys!
