Toytec lift installed but have a question

I had a Toytec 1 inch body lift installed on the the top of 1.5 inch Ironman suspension lift lift. Now after the body lift there is like an inch gap between the body and the front bumper and looks really ugly. My Toytec lift kit didnt come with the front bumper relocation bracket. How do you get one and from where?

Overall the runner looked nice after the body lift but when I saw the front I felt like taking the lift off...it looks like she's been into an accident : (

BTW I had it installed by my mechanic.

I guess ill chip in and try to help, I haven't done the 1 BL yet but have researched and i believe 4crawler.com has the relocation brackets

generally for a 1" body lift people just modify their existing bracket by drilling new holes 1" higher. Or you can get the relocation brackets from 4crawler as posted above.

I have noticed that after the lift the steering feels different during turns. Is that normal?

The steering does have a different feel after a body lift install. I also recommend just drilling new holes in the bumper bracket. The bumper relocation bracket from 4crawler is just steel plate with four holes drilled and you need to drill a hole in the stock bumper bracket anyways. I just purchased and installed a 2" 4crawler body lift and I could have saved $15-20 by just drilling a new hole in my stock bracket.

Lifting a car makes your steering less responsive also you need to get an alignment asap after the lift

I would just re-drll the brackets. I installed a 2" BL on mine and just re-drilled. Looked like factory.

By that did you mean the steering feels tight? What you could do or probably didn't do is loosen the clamp that holds the splined end of the steering shaft just above the rag joint. The whole shaft probably got pushed up with it when you inserted the steering spacer.

Release the clamp and then wiggle the steering wheel side to side and it should alleviate the tightness of it..Don't forget to tighten back the bolt/clamp after you're happy.

Nah! you're probably just getting old and your reflexex ain't what they used to be.......plus no need to align it when just doing BL.:biggrin2:

Yeah the steering feels tight during turns. Well I guess I wouldnt worry about the bracket or drilling any holes. I think I will go with ARB or Ironman front bumper.

I have Defiant light bar for 4 lights that I wont be able to use anymore. I will put it on sale once I have the new bumper, hopefully I will be able to find some buyer here for theit: )

Just a heads up, the ARB bumper and others like it will still have a gap unless the mounts are modified. Or the bumper is custom fabbed for the body lift. I know the outdoor logic bumpers are designed to work with a 1" body lift:

1.) Does CBI offer their bumper to accommodate a 2" BL? Does the bumper bolt to a bracket or is it one piece bolted to frame?

To answer this your just going to have to maybe go to their website or call them?

No like before I wasn't even thinking about getting a body lift so I didn't get a bumper to accommodate that so that's my fault. I emailed them thinking that a body lift bracket was literally something that you can easily attach but I know it's not now. What I'm trying to find out is if somebody has the same problem as me with the same bumper (cause stock bumper is different I think) but knows how to solve it
