Trade in 2007 Sport for 2009 Trail?

I currently have a 2007 sport with 100k miles. I recently found a 09 Trail Edition with 67k miles. They want $21,300 for the 2009. My current 07 is paid for.

I know the 09 Trail is AWESOME, but so is no payments.....

Opinions on if it is worth it or not would be appreciated.

find a junk yard locker from an FJ or just buy an eaton E-Locker. Roughly a $1000 problem. (even though the 09 trail is pretty awesome!) there are a couple threads on here for the swap in to your axle housing. My two cents.

That has been on the long distance radar already. My current Sport has a little rust developing on the rear axle and oddly thats the ONLY place.... The thought was in a while I would change the rear axle housing mainly due to the fact its like a seed planted in my brain and it irks me daily. The rust is in NO way anything remotely bad just bothersome. At that time I planned for a rear locker.

The Trail is just tempting, due to the other added features it has beyond the locker. Trac off mode, Waterproof seats, color match grille etc... Essentially everything I want all wrapped up in a car payment lol.

Trading or selling yours? Trade difference matters more than asking price to me.

Yeah, don't trade yours in. That's insanity. We're in one of the worst winters in years, 4x4 trucks are in extremely high demand. You wouldn't have a hard time at all selling yours. At least I hope not, I'm about to sell my 1999 SR5 because I just bought a 2006 Sport.

Fortunately for me the decision was easy. The trail was gone 2 days after being listed. I was having a hard time convicing myself it was worth it anyways..... Maybe another day.

Tempting try to sell your Sport instead of trade or have dealer drop price to 20,500 then trade.
