traded in my '99 4runner

so i traded in my '99 4runner about 3 weeks ago, and am now driving a 01 audi a4 1.8t, and I love the thing, but still miss my 4runner very much.
While i had the 4runner i bought a bug sheild (that i never mounted) who wants it?
and i also have the 3 bars that go across the roof, i took them off to clean the car, then never put them back on, who wants those?

you made a huge mistake buying the audi!!!

My roommate has a 01 1.8t quattro and it has been nothing but headaches!

besides the huge list of warranty repairs, Audi screwed her when one of the oil passages going to the head clogged up and caused a cam bearing to seize up. the car had 47k on it and audi said that since they couldn't find evidence of her first oil change at the dealer, they would only cover the parts. the oil change was done elsewhere, but it still cost her $1200 in labor. this is when the car still had a full warranty.

the most recent issue was when the car went in for its 50k service. she complained that the steering wheel was making a "crunching noise" when she drove it. they said that they couldn't replicate the condition(it neeed to warm up first), she just took it in for the 60k service, and low and behold, they found the problem(s). wearing ball joints and a leak in the high pressure hose in the power steering unit. "the car is out of warranty, take it up with the warranty people." no problem I figured, its documented. wrong, audi agreed to pay for only 25% of the repair. the cost is over a thousand.

ran ok when it was new though. even all the mechanics that I know that work specifically on german cars say you can throw thousands of dollars at them, but they never run like they did when they were new.

all I have to say is, keep your checkbook handy.

i think its luck of the draw, i've heard some horror stories like the one you mentioned, but i also have heard horror stories with 4runners, including mine, where my MAF was replaced no joke 5 times, and the problem was never fixed, my radiator had to be replaced twice, and many more, so i'm just sorda hoping God will grace me with a worry free audi, to compenstate for the 4runner

**i still love the 4runner though, and i do miss it, but i was getting worked on what seemed like every other week
