Trading 4runner for FJC ...

The FJC has the unique look to the exterior/interior going for it, but it's just basically a slightly shorter 4runner with harder to access rear seats. I went from a FJC to a GX470 and I love the extra room and extra doors.

I started a very similar thread on this subject. But I came to my senses post haste and decided that The only solution was to be a pig and have both....another non-4Runner vehicle in my stable would have to go to make it happen. My 4th gen v8 4Runner is just too perfect.

Haven't figured out a way to make my wife want my 4Runner and part with her Pilot though. That's MY challenge.

For you, Don't know what to tell you as I fancy the FJ as well.

I actually did exactly the opposite. Went to the dealership for that exact model FJC and drove it back to back against a new 4Runner. The Runner was more what I was looking for, but I get the desire for that FJC. Good luck whatever you decide!

I also did the opposite. I traded in my 2010 FJC for my current 2011 Limited. I have no regrets whatsoever. I am thoroughly enjoying the extra rooms/doors. Its up to you though. Its your money so spend it however you like.

This thread smells like Troll Bait, but I'll bite.

If you're asking from a "financial" perspective, then no....it sounds pretty dumb.

If you're in love with FJC and just want one regardless of the insanity you're about to commit to get one....Then go for it. It's your wasted money.

FWIW I owned an FJC and loved it. BUT.....I traded mine in for my 4Runner Trail (Just like the one you're about to get rid of). The 4Runner is a step up in my opinion. You're about to trade a NEWER 4Runner for an OLDER FJC. Nothing about that deal makes any sense.

I think you wouldn't have to worry as much about where to park in a parking lot with the FJC. You know, door dings and keeping it tidy....

Are we talking even trade? That does not seem smart.

Overall, I totally see the advantages of the FJ. It has some significant advantage in some off-road situations.

I did the opposite as well....

FJ for a T4R SR5 Premium. Absolutely no regrets!

Oh, start a savings account for windshields!

Aerodynamics' of a brick, slight wind will be felt while driving as well.
I could go on & on....

But, hey, if that's what you want to do, who are we to try to bring you to your senses!

show her crash test ratings, the pilot is bad

1. Can you truly afford the hit you're going to take?

2. Do you have wife buy-in?

3. What do you think you'll want in 6 more months? Repeat #1 and #2.
