Trail suggestions Monrovia

Looking for some trails or meetups near monovia - around Pasadena to Azusa. Never been on a trail, be nice to find a group that I can tag along or some easy trail suggestions. Thanks!

Azusa Canyon Reservoir, just north of you. Good for a one time trip, may be only open on weekends, no alcohol. Small water crossing at the beginning, took my new T4 there the first month I had it. Check my old post:

If you go, use 4WD for the stream crossing, watch a few others go first to make you feel better about it.

Not sure of any trails nearby besides azusa canyon, but you can always check out rohwer flats or cleghorn, which aint that bad of a drive.
