Trail valance, Silver to Black. Any one try this method?

Any opinions on using the glossifier?

Here are my mirror covers. This is my first time uploading photos here, so I'm not sure how they'll turn out. In each image, the left mirror cover is the one being dipped, right cover is untouched. 1st image is 3 coats clear plasti dip, 2nd is after 6 coats, 3 image is after the 6 coats of clear and 2 coats of glossifier. I have to work on my technique to get the 'wet' look, but I'm OK with this first attempt.

I removed the valences, scuffed and cleaned with mineral spirits, and painted it with rustoleum bedliner spray. It's extremely durable and gives a great rough matte black finish but not nearly as rough as lineX texture wise. even if I was plastidipping them I would seriously recommend removing them because it is so stinkin easy
In my experience the plastic underneath is not very black at all so the sanding method I believe will not turn out very well at all

Toyota has stopped selling TRD Pro parts anyway so you probably couldn't get it anyway.
I would do the same as you, paint it. :thumb3:

Since when? I can find as many parts as I want right now that are TRD Pro parts. You only had to have a VIN to get the wheels when they had 4-6 month shortage.

That's cool. Way to make it unique. It ties in nicely to the roof rack as well.
